LaserComp's Heat Flow Meters meet the following standards:
ASTM C518, ISO 8301, EN 12667, EN 1946-1, EN 1946-3.

FOX50 FOX50 is a microprocessor-based instrument for testing materials in the conductivity range of 0.1W/mK to 10W/mK. Samples up to 63 mm in diameter and from 0 to 25 mm thick are tested in accordance with ASTM C 518 and ISO 8301. Its unique Two Thickness Test Procedure improves accuracy.
FOX150 tests 6" (152mm) square samples 0 to 1" (25mm) thick. Opens up to 1.5" (38mm) for sample removal, has ability to evacuate chamber and provide inert gas backfill. Option of vacuum to 10-3 Torr.
FOX200 tests 8" (203mm) square samples 0 to 2" (51mm) thick. Automatic Sample Feeding systems (up to 21 1" samples -- see picture) are available.
FOX300 tests 12" (305mm) square samples 0 to 2'' (51mm) thick. Automatic Sample Feeding systems (up to 21 1" samples) are available.
FOX304 provides a Linear Gradient Guard, an active guard area to prevent edge heat loss when testing thick samples (2" to 4") at temperature extremes.
FOX314 tests 12" (305mm) square samples 0 to 4" (102mm) thick. Automatic Sample Feeding systems (up to 21 1" samples) are available.
FOX314AC air cooled unit (no cooling water needed), tests 12" (305mm) square samples 0 to 4" (102mm) thick. Tests at 10°C and 35°C. Automatic Sample Feeding systems (up to 21 1" samples) are available.
FOX6xx A series of instruments with 24" (610mm) square plates for samples of unlimited length from 0 to 8" (203mm) thick, tailored to customer' requirements (See note).
FOX8xx A series of instruments with 30" (762mm) square plates for samples of unlimited length from 0 to 12" (305mm) thick, tailored to customer' requirements (See note).
FOX1000 A series of instruments with 41" x 30" (1041mm x 762mm) plates. The test chamber has front and back doors which allow specimens that are 1050 mm wide to be tested. It was designed specifically for vacuum panels of large size.

Note: Both the FOX600 and FOX800 series have sophisticated, sensitive electronics for very low noise measurement of temperatures and heat flux plus two heating/cooling zones per plate for accurate temperature distribution. Instruments are available with up to 32 separate transducers per plate for R value mapping. This has enabled them to very accurately test samples with R values of 100+ (i.e. vacuum panels). WinTherm Software enables selection of all, individual, or any combination of transducers, and automatically stores all selected data.

LaserComp's Absolute Instruments meet the following standards:
ASTM C177, ISO 8302.

Tuber100 uses the absolute method combined with a sophisticated end guarding system to test pipe insulation. Sample length is one meter with diameters from 12mm to 100mm+. Three probes are provided with the instrument, 15mm, 18mm and 22mm. Conductivity range is 0.02W/mK - 0.08W/mK. Temperature range is up to 80°C with temperature control of 0.01°C. Software provides computer interface and automatic data storage.
FOXA100 uses the absolute method. A heat flow meter is used to control temperature of the bottom surface plate to assure that all power generated in the center section of the main heater will be driven through the measuring area of the sample. Minimum sample size is 65 mm diameter. The actual measuring area is 37.5 mm. The instrument accepts samples up to 150 mm square and up to 25 mm thick. Both instrument plates utilize solid state heating/cooling and operate between 0°C and 80°C (32°F and 176°F). (Temperatures of 145°C are available in advanced version.)
